Frequently Asked Questions
- Who are you, and what inspired you to become a writer?
I am Michael N. Moses, an author, writer, poet. I am also a trained Town Planner, but writing has always given me a unique way to express my thoughts, experiences, observations, and convictions.
My inspiration to write comes largely from life itself—the experiences we encounter, the struggles we face, the lessons we learn, and the questions that often remain unanswered. I believe words have the power to encourage, challenge, educate, heal, and inspire.
For me, writing is more than putting words on paper; it is a way of connecting with people and contributing something meaningful to the world.
- When did you first discover your passion for writing?
I discovered my passion for writing around 2007. I have always enjoyed observing people, society, relationships, and the circumstances around me. Eventually, I began turning those observations into words. My early writing developed into poetry, reflections, and eventually books. Over time, I realised that writing was not simply an interest—it was a part of who I am.
- What does writing mean to you?
Writing is my means of expression. It allows me to communicate thoughts that may otherwise remain unspoken. It is also a form of documentation. Through writing, I can preserve experiences, communicate ideas, challenge assumptions, encourage people, and hopefully leave something meaningful behind.
- Who are your biggest literary influences?
My influences come from different places. I am greatly influenced by the Bible, human experiences, society, and everyday conversations. Sometimes an ordinary encounter or observation can inspire a powerful piece of writing.
- How would you describe yourself as an author?
I would describe myself as a reflective and purposeful writer. I am interested in the human experience—our struggles, relationships, faith, emotions, choices, successes and failures. I try to write in a way that is accessible while still giving the reader something meaningful to reflect upon.
Beyond the ordinary
